Well we are starting to discuss the proposed Off-road Schedule over at

http://www.tricitiesrc.com/forum/main/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=38

So I was wondering if there would be any desire to run an 18th scale class during the offroad season. The track is BIG for 18th scale but if there were consistently 3-5 cars then I am sure we could gladly fit that into the program, so the question is are there enough RC18T, RC18B, RC18MT, and Mini-T guys out there to make this work? thoughts, concerns, ideas lets hear it!

Thats a tough question, but to get a decent following out there as with most electric classes I would probably have to say we might run a "run what ya brung" class pretty much meaning open. I dont see any other way around it to try and get a consistent number of people. Was just a thought to try and pull some people in because ALOT of people have 18th scale, Racers have them for bashing around, crawlers have them, some kid got one for christmas etc.... What do you suggest Rob?

I'm open to anything. I bought a 18t brushless from my cousin last month and I own an original brushed 18t. I prefer to run the brushless, but i'm not sure if I can get the horsepower to the ground (8000kv motor with such a little car) and I'm not sure if the stock set up is fast enough for a big track. May need to go out there with both setups and see wich one works.

You could run part of the track like they did at Darren's when it was open. Use plywood jumps to cut over barriers to make the track smaller.

I like it, we can figure out bypasses over pipe to avoid the big jumps AKA the "18 scale break your car jumps" and run the track. Now just need to get Darren to get this schedule locked down and a little over a month a way from action

Hey my brother ran the stock motor and battery 18t on Saturday was pretty much full throttle whole track but wasnt boring, was still kinda fun. Mud weight fried the ESC though :x . but modded motor battery setups are gonna be the way to go. 3 cars = class

ran the stock holeshot setup, not enough power to really be loose and 1/4 of a lap and they were caked anyways so it was dirt on dirt traction any tire would have worked with that speed and mud. I think even after pack the holeshots will be the setup which is good since that is the most readily available tire setup.

This sounds great, sounds like alot of fun.
I know of 4 1/18 tracks that are built by some friends, and another one in the works as soon as it's warm enough to start digging.

we set the schedule last night(posted in the next day or two) and would love a 18th scale class to run with us at the Northwest RC speedway track, 3 cars= a class and I think there would be enough to run a summer series so I hope you guys can join us this year would be a lot of fun!
